09/29/07 Update

Hi,
We have made a lot of progress. The Internet website is set for a launch on October 3, 2007. We have decided to stay focused as a group and not form a 527. Our main messages are to:

* Get out the Fred Vote in each member's precinct on February 5 and win the Colorado Nomination for Fred
* Educate members on how to get out the vote
* Educate members on the Colorado Caucus Process
* Leverage the Internet site
* Create a YouTube next weekend and post on website
* Connect members to each other via MeetUp
* Encourage donations to go directly to Fred via Fred08 website

Our member count is 60. We really need everyone to sign up to Meetup and move away from email. Meetup is a much more private communication channel since each members email account address is hidden on Meetup.

Best regards,
Christel

09/24/07 Update -- Weekly Saturday Meeting

Hi, a small group of us met this past Saturday at Starbucks at Hampden and Happy Canyon. We have added several new members. Mark brought some Fred goodies (e.g., bumper stickers and poster board). Thanks, Mark. We have added a strategy member to the team, Jim. He is going to help us with our short- and long-term milestones.

We have decided to meet every Saturday at 9:00 a.m., but decided to change venues. The Starbucks was just to loud. We will be meeting at 4-Points Sheraton coffee house/restaurant at I-25 and Hampden.

Alice gave us an updated on the Internet site underdevelopment and anticipates its launch in two weeks.

I anticipate to receive from Tom this week the script for You Tube.

It seems as though the presentation that I sent out to you for review was pretty good. I plan to edit one more time and then post it to this blog.

Also, I have just created a Meetup Group and will be sending individuals on the email distribution list an invite to join. Yes, I covered the 6 month cost.

Got to go. Chat soon.

09/14/07 Last Night's Meeting & Update

Last night's meeting was great! Learned a lot from Tom on the caucus vs primary nomination process. One of our challenges will be to education CFF on the new caucus process and how the February 5 caucus vote in each precinct is critical. That is, we need to win the majority precinct by precinct to secure delegates for the Colorado Convention and win majority at that Convention. Wow! I can't believe I didn't know any of this 8 days ago.

A lot has been happening. Alice is working on our Internet site without funding. THANKS, Alice. Since Tom is fantastic at explaining the caucus process and he is quite good looking he will be working on a Youtube video for our Internet site. Anyone want to help? Do you have a good video camera and can direct this video?????? Any takers???

Also, we have CFF PowerPoint that could be leveraged for the video and website. I have sent the DRAFT powerpoint out to the email distribution and requested improvements.

Lots more, but I have to go. Did not schedule the next meeting, yet.

Oh, we are up to 52 members with 8 as potential members. Not bad since we started all of this 8 days ago.

Before I sign-off... don't forget to tell your friends about our progress, blog site, and to get on the email distribution list.

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Next Meeting -- 09/13/07 5:30 p.m.

Hi,
Made a change to the meeting time. We will be meeting at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 13, at Foothills Ice Arena.

09/11/07 Making Progress

We now have a tax id and will be securing a checking account today. We decided not to have a membership fee. We need members. We will be asking and receiving donations. We also have a P.O. Box 621296, Littleton, CO 80162. You and others can send donations to "Colorado Friends of Fred" at the P.O. Box above. The donations will go to expenses (e.g., reimbursement for filing fee and rally materials.) Finally, we have a first DRAFT PRESS RELEASE. Yeah!!

09/10/07 Need Your Help. Please.

See Highlights below.

I do have three tasks for you today.

TASK 1: Can you please find out what county and precinct you are in and then email me this information. I am creating a database of member information so we can easily connect you with others in your precinct.

You are part of the building of this network and are so important for Coloradoans who want their conservative voice heard and represented.

We now have 38 contacts.

TASK 2: Can you please help us reach 100 contacts (emails addresses) by this Thursday by referring them to Colorado Friends of Fred. I would like our objective to be 100 contacts by this Thursday. It will only happen if you spread the word. I'd like to make it easy for you so just email your Friends of Fred and cc my email address. I will reach out to them as someone you indicated would like to be or is a Friend of Fred.

TASK 3: Can you please let me know what you think is an appropriate membership fee? We will want to obtain these fees since our account is in red for $25 (State fee for setting up the non-profit.)

Highlights:
* 38 Contacts and growing
* Set up Second House Meeting (this Thursday -- will be at Foothills Ice Arena)
* Set up Colorado Friends of Fred 527 (non-profit), Board Members (we can add to the latter), and working By Laws.
* Planning our first rally in the first part of October (will be at Foothills Ice Arena)
* Completing objectives as part of powerpoint presentation for next meeting

Blog soon,
Christel

Day Two after National House Party -- Morning

Just a quick update. Larry has signed up for scripting calls and such. Thanks so much Larry.

Also, I have a correction. Earlier I said there were 700 precincts. I guess we are to multiply this by 64 counties. Wow!!!! That makes 44,800 precincts in Colorado. Room for every conservative in Colorado to be active and spread the word, gain support, make things happen, build a conservate voter infrastructure, etc.. Lots of opportunity to make a difference.

The Day after the National House Party

OK. As a local group we need to set up as a non-profit for us to be funded to support conservative republican voters. Yeah, with help from our stealth precinct captain we have a non-profit with the State of Colorado. Drummmmmm Rolllllll...... Colorado Friends of Fred (CFF)... thus, the web blog. Next steps are to secure a tax id and bank account which I will do as the CFF Agent.

We then need by-laws. Can anyone help here for me to submit to the State?

We need another event and to remember to ask for donations and get a coverage charge/ticket to cover our non-profit expenses. I have set up another event on the "I'm with Fred" website for next Thursday at 7:30. We are working on trying to secure another venue...stay tuned in.

Also, we now have a database of my precincts voters (dems, reps, and indeps). Names and numbers. Definitely need to call the Reps. Any idea on how to do this... fast? We need to come up with script ..... Anyone want to take this action item??

Also, there are 700 precincts in Colorado and each one needs conservative repulican voters. Lots of precincts don't have anyone. Unbelievable. We need to strategies about this? Others for other candidates already have a strategy and structure. Lets talk about this. I think we need a strategy to present at the next event which is next Thursday. Yikes!!

Got to go......chat soon...

National House Party

Thank you for attending the National House Party last night. If you missed it, we missed you. We sure learned a lot. Specifically, there is not a local Republican structure in place a conservative candidate to be nominated by Colorado Republicans. Guess what? "We" are it. "We" are the structure. Ahhhhh!!

Thanks goodness we had a precinct captain who explained some next steps.

If you like a challenge of learning by doing, this is the group for you.

All are welcomed.

Time to rock and roll.
